Our staff & staff training policy

Wrixon Care Services encourages and will facilitate training and the personal development of all staff. We are recognised as an Investor in People which was achieved in March 2004 and renewed in 2007. All individual escort staff are hold a PHV operators licence as does Wrixon Care.

Due to the nature of work undertaken by staff it is necessary for all members of the team to undertake regular training in a variety of areas. All training offered to staff will be appropriate to the task undertaken for example confidentiality, PACE, control of aggression, the Children Act as well as all the main areas of training listed below.

All new staff complete our comprehensive induction programme which includes a range of classroom based training as well as on the job instruction. Refresher courses are held regularly.

• Physical Control in Care (PCC)
• Child protection - an introduction
• First Aid
• Report writing and supervising contact visits
• Appropriate Adult
• Child car seat fitting
• In house induction progrmme
• On the job training
• External training programmes - to meet individual / specialist needs
• Grade 1 training
• Health and Safety
• Youth Justice - including information on the Youth Justice System, The YJB, YOT and Equality and Diversity

All training undertaken by the individual staff members is recorded on personnel files and we check that all training received is used in practice, e.g. through spot checks, one to ones and staff supervision.

Complaints Procedure

Wrixon Care is committed to responding to all complaints courteously and promptly. It is our responsibility to constantly improve the quality of our service and we welcome any constructive comments or views. We aim to address any complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within 2 weeks.

We see our role as a caring one. It's not just about getting from A to B.
