Wrixon Care employs a mix of male and female carers. Many young people may just require a 'buddy' for some quality time, especially if in a single parent family that lacks male presence. All our youth carers are qualified and undergo a six week hands-on youth care training programme with us before they start their youth care duties. All carers pass an enhanced CRB check and are closely scrutinised on an ongoing basis to ensure that our care standards remain the best.

All our carers have experience of older children and teenagers from all walks of life; older children with behavioural problems, learning difficulties and other specialised requirements. If you would like to discuss your needs with us please contact us.
We offer a wide range of care services in Nationwide. We pride ourselves in offering care services of a quality second to none and to do this we rely on our carers.
Our responsibility
Wrixon Care provides written information to the trainee about our responsibility, the service, the powers and duties of Wrixon Cares staff, our complaints procedure and where appropriate, information about the Youth Justice System and the relevant premises to which the trainee will be taken. This information will be made available to the trainee at the outset of the escort.
Written information will be available in English, Welsh and 12 ethnic minority languages in a form that is readily understood. If the trainee is unable to read, the information will be provided verbally. Where the transfer of responsibility for the trainee from another agency to Wrixon Care occurs without the trainee being moved, for example where the trainee is held in a police station adjacent to the court, the fact of the transfer must be brought to the trainee's attention at the time of the transfer and recorded.
Wrixon Care will ensure that the trainee is made aware of the procedure for making a complaint, including their right of appeal to the relevant authority.
Wrixon Care will not read or examine any correspondence between a trainee and his/her legal adviser unless there is reasonable cause to suspect that it contains material not related to legal proceedings. We will, however, do our best to ensure that trainees fully understand the information given to them. Our staff will ensure that correct documentation is issued and properly completed.
Emergency and contingency plans
We have policies, procedures , guidance and staff training to ensure that our staff are able to act competently and quickly in the event of an emergency.
Risk assessment and managing the welfare of trainees
The safety and security of trainees in Wrixon Care's custody is our first priority and must not, under any circumstances be jeopardised. Wrixon Care / the allocated team is responsible for the general welfare of trainees in its custody. Wrixon Care has a strict ban on smoking, alcohol and illegal substances. We obtain information on accepting a task to enable us to undertake an initial risk assessment. The information is reviewed and updated as appropriate. All trainees are treated with respect, particularly care and sensitivity.
